Stimulus control helps break an association with the bedroom and wakefulness. CBT helps analyze unhealthy beliefs and fears involving sleep, and changes that to rational thinking. One example of someone trying Cognitive behavioral therapy would be for them to eliminate their afternoon nap for a week or two and then judge the effects of that.
